Your babies are well loved at VGCC!
Because there is no better time to discover God's love than during the childhood years, VGCC's Children's Ministry exists to help children grow in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We provide a fun, nurturing and creative place for kids to experience the truths of God's Word and to uncover the difference those truths can make in their lives.
- Our infant to toddler program provides a fun environment for learning and playing! A typical sunday in our nursery might include visual stimulation featuring toys and puppets, Christian children's songs, and snack time. Additionally, the nursery is equipped with a pager system for safety, giving parents the assurance that they can be reached in a moment's notice if their child should need them. Bring your baby to the nursery and enjoy our service with peace of mind.
- VGCC's 3 year-old class enjoys inside playtime, singing and stretching, flannel-board stories, beginning prayers, and outside playtime. Instruction includes the repetition of the same foundational story for 4-6 weeks using bold visuals. Snacks are also provided during class-time.
- Pre-K students begin their class with circle time. In circle time, children are led in song and movement which introduces portions of the story they will engage in shortly. After circle time, the children transition into story time where children are a part of the story telling. This story telling includes a puppet show which has proved wildly popular with the children! The class will then transition into activity and craft time led by their teachers. Snack is also provided during this part of worship hour. Toward the end of the class, teachers take time to pray with the kids before leading them outside to play on our playground.
- VGCC's Kindergarten students are led through a worship music time of their own as class starts. They are then directed to art tables to engage in artistic and creative projects. Children then transition to story time where they are taught lessons using Gospel Light curriculum. Once done with the lesson, children are given a snack and allowed to reflect with their teachers about what they have just learned. Each week the kindergartners are assigned a memory verse that they will learn in exchange for Bible Bucks, which can then be redeemed for Prizes! If there is time the class might go out to the playground for outside play.
